The Hindu religion has evolved over millions of years. This evolution has
brought forth different ways of worshipping the Almighty. The Hindu pantheon of
gods, the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva or the Advait philosophy might
seem contradictory to an alien but to a Hindu, it is complementary and engrained
in his conscience.
Hence wherever a Hindu goes, he would like to follow the rites, rituals,
festivals and fasts which are the temporal part of the religion. Many times he
cannot do so for lack of information or material or the pandit to perform the
rites. This website aims at filling this gap.
The Sanskruti Section is envisioned to provide the necessary assistance to follow Hindu
Religious Rites and Rituals simply by following the instructions and listening
to the incantation of the prayers in Sanskrit or repeating them. The
significance of these rituals is explained simply to enable easy comprehension.
We must state here that there are many interpretations to Vedic texts and
symbols and there could be a completely different significance of a particular
rite. The primary purpose is to
provide the method, the different items required for the worship and the shlokas
or mantras. The description as to how, when and why a ritual is followed is also
included.
